welp. 2008 is almost gone. this will likely be my last post this year as i don't have to work the rest of the week. not really sure what i am gonna do other than hope the flaming lips have decided to change their set up...the one they have been playing for 3 years or so now...that would definitely be cool. even if they play the same set though, at least i won't be at some bummer party watching people be boring and drink themselves into a fuzz.

i think i had a small victory last night. i have had issues with pillows for a while...just can't find one i like. i thought i really liked the ones we have on our bed but found that they are good for falling asleep but end up too flat and thin. well, as i was about to go to bed last night, i decided to try something. i took an old pair of sweatpants and folded them up so that they ran the length of the pillow giving it just an extra half inch of padding...and i slept awesome...it was still thick enough when i woke up. now i am not sure this is a permanent fix but i will keep you updated.

i can't believe christmas is this week already. i only have to work today and tomorrow. that rules i have to say. it also rules that i am completely done with christmas shopping and i am only waiting on one more present to come in the mail. the tracking says it will be here by the 23rd...we will see i guess. my family is notorious for giving pictures of what you will be receiving once it actually arrives. hopefully i can dodge that bullet.

i watched 3 hours worth of documentaries about Jesus yesterday and probably another 3 hours about little people. i am not gonna lie, it wouldn't have surprised me if i would have had a dream combining the two.

i plan on posting my top ten albums of 2008 pretty soon. i wanted to beat pitchfork so you kids wouldn't think i was aping their stuff but i didn't get it done...i haven't checked theirs yet though and i would guess mine will be completely different aside from maybe a couple of choices.

the heater is fixed. this can be confirmed by the fact that i woke up in a room that had to be over 75 degrees...the thermostat is set at 68 but our room holds heat so well that we are gonna have to start turning it down more than that i think. i couldn't believe it when i woke up and realized i had kicked off all of the sheets. it turns out that we weren't fully let in on how our heating system works. we had been told that it operated off of the air conditioner until the outside temperature reaches a certain point. i am not sure we were told the actual temperature though...at that point it is supposed to switch over and our house is supposed to be heated by natural gas...well this is all true except that they didn't tell us we had to change settings completely on the thermostat...we had been told that this magically happens...not the case...if you don't switch it over, the air conditioner struggles to keep your house around 50 degrees. good to know.

i am gonna go out on a limb and say that our heater is not fully operational. its set at 68 right now...and we are stuck at a wonderful 53 degrees. considering we have owned the house for 8 months now and this is our first real issue, i can't be that upset. however, i look forward to being warm...especially since i spent all day at work yesterday hovering in the low 60's as their heater wasn't working so great either. i am wearing my running tights under the slacks today...desperate times call for desperate measures...even tights.
